Fr. Raymond Mupandasekwa who vsited us from Tafara in Zimbabwe recently advised us of Lenten services within his Parish of St. Alphonsus:
“Lent is the busiest season within St. Alphonsus, we have so many devotions going on. The whole parish comes together each morning at 6 a.m. and again in the afternoon at 3 p.m. for “The Way of The Cross”. Every Sunday the parish will meet at 5 p.m. for Benediction and Adoration. Added to this we have divided the parish in to eight sections and have section masses, in the evenings, in the parishioners homes. These take place outside in the open as there is no one home able to accommodate the numbers who attend”
A Parish social ‘pasta’ evening will be held on Friday 8th November; music by the fabulous Joanne Bence! Tickets £8.
All proceeds will be sent to Fr. Raymond in Tafara in support of his fundraising efforts to build the Parish of St. Alphonsus a hall of their own! His Parishioners are fundraising in their own small ways – selling candles and paraffin, the proceeds of which will be used to fence off and prepare the site for future building work.
